M&Ms
Chapter 11
By Crystal

A few hours after I had fallen asleep I was awaken by my bed moving. I looked up to see Nick placing Sass in my bed. He pulled the covers over her and smiled at me.

"She fell asleep downstairs," he whispered.

"Did you wear her out?" I asked cheekily. Nick bent down on the side of the bed and smiled at me. "I think I did. She's a great kid."

"I know. You're not planning on going all the way back to Tampa tonight, are you?"

"I was thinking about it."

"You look too tired. Just stay here. We've got plenty of room. Besides, I'm in the mood to cuddle."

"What's this? You mean you actually want to cuddle with me?" he joked.

"Just get your butt in bed." I moved over and watched Nick strip off his pants and get into the bed next to me. I rested my head on his chest and draped an arm over him.

"Isn't this against the rules?" he asked.

"No. Friends are allowed to cuddle. It's an unwritten rule."

"What about Mr. Model?"

I looked up at Nick. I felt bad that he seemed to be jealous. "It's just a date Nick. We're not getting married. I don't even know the guy. He found my wallet, returned it to me, started a conversation and just asked me out. That's all."

"You're a hard women to forget about," he sighed.

"No I'm not. I'm just me."

"Promise me one thing Brash. If Captain America model doesn't work out, promise you'll keep me in mind."

"I'm almost tempted to slap a big duh on you, but I'll save that moment for another time. Of course Nick. You're always on my mind." I couldn't believe I just said that! I must be softening up to him.

"You're really softening up to me," he said. Déjà vu. "I like it."

"Good. Now let's go to sleep."

That Friday Nick and Sass spent the entire day at his house. She got to record some of her favorite songs and even sang one that Nick had written a while back. Nick was enthusiastic to work with a singer with such talent. He offered her tips on different ways to breathe so you could hold notes out longer, the best way to sing vowels, how to try to avoid diphthongs, if at all possible, and how to use her diaphragm. When it was time for my date with Erick, Nick took Sass out to meet the rest of the band. When they got back to my condo it was going on midnight.

Sass walked through the door and smiled at me. Nick followed her in. "Hey sis! How did your date go?"

"It was nice. We went to this nice restaurant in Orlando and had a good time." Both Sass and Nick gave me the strangest looks. "What?!" I asked defensively.

"Something else happened…" Sass commented. I grew angry just at the thought of it. "Nothing else happened, okay? Everything was fine! Now go to bed Sass. It's really late and you and I have plans tomorrow."

Sass walked up to me and looked me in my eyes, obviously concerned about my sudden change in attitude. "Are you sure you're okay?" she asked.

"I'm fine. Now go to bed." Sass and Nick hugged before she retreated upstairs. I got up and walked into the bathroom to splash some water on my face. I felt so disgusting. Nick appeared behind me as I buried my face in a scoop of water. After a few splashes I grabbed a towel and dried off my face. I couldn't avoid his disapproving gaze any longer.

"Why are you staring at me like that?" I raised my voice.

"What happened tonight that put you in such a bad mood?"

"Nothing. Just leave me alone Nick."

He looked pissed. "Fine. Goodbye Brash." He started walking out of the room. I hesitated at first, but called him back. He slowly appeared back to my view and I couldn't take it anymore. I fell to my knees and cried. Nick rushed up to me and took me in his arms.

"What is it? What's the matter?"

"Everything. The whole night was the matter."

"What did he do to you?"

I couldn't answer, all I could do was cry and cry and cry.
